Photo Booth Experiential Marketing
Experiential Marketing also known as Engagement Marketing can be defined as, “a marketing strategy that directly engages consumers and invites and encourages them to participate in the evolution of a brand or a brand experience.” [1] With our Booth 66 photo booth experiential marketing experiences we work with our clients to channel the consumer into an active role as both a receiver and sharer of the brand (physically, digitally and socially).
“Rather than looking at consumers as passive receivers of messages, engagement marketers believe that consumers
should be actively involved in the production and co-creation of marketing programs, developing a relationship with the brand.” [1]
In this digital age we push forth advertising content to our channel of friends and family. We are constantly posting and chatting about where we dined, what we saw and most importantly, how we felt. This is an incredibly powerful tool for marketing agencies. These companies want to capture consumers attention and leverage it to increase brand loyalty and future sales.
Experiential Marketing is typically centered around an event experience. This could be a concert, sporting event, non-profit gala, product launch or fashion show. The goal of these events is to provide a service or entertainment to the consumer that closely coincides with the service or product. Furthermore, it goes much deeper in that guests leave with a heightened knowledge and affinity for the said brand or product. This interaction creates a desire to love it, share it, and make it part of the their digital persona.
Integrating this level of engagement into your event can take on many forms. With Booth 66 Photo Booths we add a face to the marketing experience. We serve as a photographic stamp of time, place, and person who lived it, loved it and shared it. We want to engage with the consumer and leave them with a takeaway snapshot that they can reflect upon.
How we do photo booth experiential marketing at Booth66…
- The Branding- We like to think of this as “your photo booth” when we create a custom activation. The attendee is there for the brand. This is why we offer complete custom wraps, branded backdrops, logos on screens, and photo slideshows mixed with promotional slides. Just as a bee is drawn to the colors of a flower we want our booth to get the attendees attention and draw them into the experience. This extra level of attention to detail is what the consumer has come to expect and helps them to connect to the moment in front of them. Don’t worry, it gets sweeter.
- The Photo- All photo booth events start simple enough, you step in front of a camera, push the button and take your picture. We have all done that a million times with Polaroids, hand-held cameras, cell phones and photo booths. So what makes this different? Our team works with the client to create a custom photo design for both physical and digital purposes. This take away gives the guests a branded photo of their moment. A “selfie stamp of approval,” if you will. This is the ultimate capture of their time with the brand they love.
- The Sharing- The physical take away is always a classic. After the photo session has ended guests have the opportunity to select and share their photos digitally. They can then engage in social media sharing of the images to the digital universe. By posting to multiple social channels with suggested comments and embedded URLs on point with the brand, the guest is now an active influencer. Just like a bee sharing information and nectar with the hive, these digital shares quickly spread and get the word out of #wheretogo, #whattodo and #whowelove.
So why use a Photo Booth?
Below is an excerpt from the Event Marketing Institute EventTrack Report[2] :
“Photos are the Most Popular Type of Content Created at Events.”
“I love taking pictures with my friends and this enabled us to all be in the photo together and it was a better quality photo than I might have produced on my own.”
“Any photo experience is still successful – especially when it’s a unique photo opp.”
Our clients can tick all three boxes with our event activation’s as we offer not only photos but on-site content for posting as well as animated GIF technology which allows a static photo to be made into a looping video photo effect.
It can be argued that photo booths are a fad and fads will come and go. What can not be denied is that the process of taking a photo will never dull with time. Technology will change, process will evolve, but the actual moment is preserved and will live on. Experiential marketing is here to stay.
